They&#8217;re cheap, they&#8217;re good, and they&#8217;re fine winter fare, &#8220;Rare ballast for an empty belly,&#8221; as Sam Gamgee said. They&#8217;re so flavorful that I don&#8217;t even bother to season them, not even salt.
