{"id":1276,"date":"2009-05-01T19:18:23","date_gmt":"2009-05-02T00:18:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acornabbey.com\/blog\/?p=1276"},"modified":"2009-05-01T19:18:23","modified_gmt":"2009-05-02T00:18:23","slug":"ice-cream-for-lunch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acornabbey.com\/blog\/?p=1276","title":{"rendered":"Ice cream for Lunch."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href='http:\/\/acornabbey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/k-ice-cream-anivid-28.JPG' title='k-ice-cream-anivid-28.JPG'><img src='http:\/\/acornabbey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/k-ice-cream-anivid-28.JPG' alt='k-ice-cream-anivid-28.JPG' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>By Anivid in the south of France<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It was a sunny day in April, a perfect day for trying out an ice cream dessert before the saison of tourists started.<br \/>\nInstead of lunch of course \u2013 ice cream desserts being on the rich &amp; heavy side, especially when being enjoyed in the most luxurious place of the town \ud83d\ude09<br \/>\nThe one I chose, called <em>Melissa<\/em>, consisted of vanilla ice cream, drenched with sauce caramel, sprinkled with caramel pieces, nuts, grilled pine kernels, cinnamon (your mouth water starts forming ??) and topped with a lot of chantilly (whipped cream). Finally two sticks of wafers as antennae for decoration.<br \/>\nIt was served with the usual tap water carafe.<br \/>\nNeed I say it was heavenly ??<br \/>\nEspecially the combination of icecream and pine kernels was delicious, pine kernels as a soft chew together with the soft caramel and ice enveloping the toungue.<br \/>\nThere was just the correct mix of everything, and it was so sweet &amp; cold as to rise the IQ (my mother always told me to keep my feet warm and head cold \ud83d\ude09 and as the brains preferred energy source is carbohydrates \u2013 I thought my choice very wise (and my mother\u2019s maxime  satisfied \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I sat outside by the little stream led through the city and thoroughly planted with beautiful flowers following the changing seasons.<br \/>\nThere might be not so pretty quarters elsewhere in the municipality, but the stream with its flowers &amp; bridges are always kept picturesque \u2013 a joy to greet for citizens &amp; visitors.<br \/>\nThe pleasure costed app. 14 $ &#8211; and my mouth can still remember the feeling of its cornucopia \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Signing out Anivid, Southern France, Gastronomy &amp; Culture<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anivid in the south of France It was a sunny day in April, a perfect day for trying out an ice cream dessert before the saison of tourists started.
