La Ni\u00f1a is a large patch of abnormally cold water in the equatorial Pacific which alters how rainfall moves up from the south toward the southeastern United States. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/products\/analysis_monitoring\/enso_advisory\/ensodisc.html\">NOAA says that these equatorial ocean currents are warming up<\/a>, which means that La Ni\u00f1a is weakening.
