The turnout was not exactly tremendous &#8212; less than a hundred. But the speeches were fiery.<\/p>\n<p>While listening to several dynamic and experienced African-American speakers at today&#8217;s event, I had a breakthrough realization about why it has been so difficult to organize rural white Southerners against fracking. African-Americans learned how to organize and fight decades ago.
