There is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antlionpit.com\/folklore.html\">much folklore<\/a> about doodlebug holes. The version I learned as a child was, &#8220;Doodlebug, doodlebug, come out, your house is on fire.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A little Googling reveals doodlebug holes to be the sand pit traps of antlion larvae. As for the adult antlions, I&#8217;ve already found one of them in the house this spring.
