This reminds me of my Cuban friend, who I always say divides women into 2 groups – if you’re pretty enough, and under 40 (he’s in his 60s) you’re girlfriend potential. otherwise you are maid material. He really is like this, but he also takes my teasing with good humor.

   Oh, I tolerate the turkeys the same way I tolerate everything else. But even the ugly have a right to be here. Though I think one could make the case that the turkeys’ plumage is not so bad, they have horrible faces! And they look like they need a bath.

   Two days ago while mowing, I had to slam on the brakes three times to keep from running over snakes. Twice it was my resident blacksnake, who generally keeps to the wildflower beds. And once it was a very pretty green snake. I have definitely had to learn to be tolerant of snakes. And the thing about blacksnakes and green snakes is that they are in no hurry to run away. I have to wait for the blacksnake and keep inching the lawn mower closer. I think the blacksnakes must be territorial.
