The neighbors in the woods

The three sets of neighbors who own land contiguous to mine have sworn to leave the deer alone. One neighbor has spoiled them by feeding them and taming them. There are two bucks in this group. Bucks usually stay deep in hiding during daylight. If you have deer for neighbors, you can forget about such things as day lilies or azaleas. But, after all, it’s their woods, too.

Lots of deer here too. They also love hostas, though have never bothered these plants in a bed bordered by lirope (monkey grass) right next to the house. Guess they don’t care for monkey grass as it also lines both sides of the walkway. No problem with them eating marigolds or zinnias that are planted in an open area.
The garden is fenced so vegetables have been safe. My grandson does supply them with deer corn at the edge of the property. Bribe, I guess.

Hi Jo: So many hungry mouths! My garden is safe from deer, too, but the raccoons and voles are making quite a mess right now.
