Last week’s ice storm was followed by bitter cold, which was followed by a blizzard, which was followed by more bitter cold. There was no mail delivery all last week. Everyone has had to watch out for frozen water pipes.
The only positive thing I can say is that we never lost power here. If we’re lucky, after one more cold night (13F), starting Monday we should return to ordinary February weather — merely semi-miserable rather than miserable.
What a beautiful view through a beautiful window!
We had 5 inches of snow in mid-South Carolina. All melted now. We, too, are ready for “regular” February temperatures.
Typically our winters are mild near the Northern California Foothills. However this year, a lot of rain tons of snow in Tahoe to 1000 ft, so we are getting 34-35º weather for a few days. We are just north of Sacramento and 30 minutes from Auburn. The snow is falling in Auburn, Foresthill, Colfax, not a lot but the chill is felt here at 400′ for a while anyway.
I agree the view through your Cathedral window is beautiful. I think I would place a chair there and just relax while looking outward. Maybe spot a Bobcat or Owl.
