Watching a bewildering world from the middle of nowhere
Spider 1, stink bug 0
The spider in my window was having a stink bug for lunch. Way to go, spider.

That’s amazing: In all these years, we have NEVER observed a natural predator of the stink bugs and had concluded there were none. We thought perhaps birds might find them appealing, yet we’ve never seen first-hand a bird — or anything else — kill one. Can we borrow your spider?
This also was the first time that I have seen any sign of natural predation against the stink bug invasion.
The photo situation was ideal, because the spider was outside, right up near the glass in an upstairs window. I could shoot from six inches away without worrying about something creepy happening.
Way to go, spider! Have only seen a few stink bugs in my neck of the woods, but one is too many. There is a small spider living in the storm door facing of our house. Have only seen it once, but the web is there every day. Unfortunately, have to use this door & there goes the web. Just spins it right back.

Wonderful photo, too.
